::Aidan Gray Holiday Giveaway::

What do you think, do you like these Aidan Gray candlesticks?

Where would you put them in your house?
In your sun room?
Or on a pedestal in your foyer?

Perhaps they'd fit in better in your formal living room?

Although, they would be much more visible in your family room, wouldn't they?

Is the breakfast nook is a better spot?
I still like them on the coffee table in the family room.
Decisions, decisions...

Well, start thinking about where you would put this pair of beauties in your home because one of you lucky readers will soon be faced with this placement dilemma!

High~street mayhem

Crazy...check out this queue and the chaos at London's Regent Street H&M store last week.

Why all the fuss?
Lanvin at H&M!

Good thing this wasn't happening this week instead of last, or I might have insisted asked my sweet hubby to spend the night in that line for me since he just so happens to be shopping in London. ;)

99.00 GBP for this dress that would normally sell for upwards of 2,000.00 GBP.
People were limited to one Lanvin item each and most of the 200 stores worldwide sold out of the 80 piece women's collection within the first two days.

Vogue UK posted the collection here:

These coats are gorgeous!

Now that the dust has settled it would be fun to see if anything is left {hubby said London stores are completely sold out}.

Has anyone seen the Lanvin collection at your H&M stores?

**talent & style**

You know that rare gem of a person who has their feet on solid ground,
while possessing charm and wit, intelligence, physical beauty,
all while nurturing a loving family, gorgeous home, successful career,
AND they're actually warm and lovely on the inside too?

Well I know one of those people and would like to share her with you.

I'm excited to help welcome her new blog into this great big blog~o~sphere!

You may already be familiar with the name, Laurie at L. Pearson Designs. Now feast your eyes on her work:
She designed this award winning bedroom in the Houston Showcase of homes in 2009.

Some of her other designs:

Her first blog post was about setting your Thanksgiving table. If you need some pointers on properly dressing a table to impress the crowd at your home on Thursday, then jump right over to her blog and take note.

The mixture of old and new along with the subtle tones and finishes makes for an elegant yet inviting setting. Ah, neutrals with pops of color.

She has an online store as well {here}:

She has some exciting projects in Houston this coming year so you're sure to see her name pop up all over the place!

::Happy Thanksgiving to you all and enjoy the long weekend. ::

Get your gobblers ready!

If you didn't see Erin's post here, then you're in luck because I found it so inspiring I just had to share it with you.

Just read Ashley Russell's 'about me' blog description:

I love transforming others junk into treasures. I describe my style as quirky, yet deliberate. I mix old, rusty, clean and modern. Farmhouse meets mod, yet blending effortlessly. I'm always involved in a creative project for a friend or myself. I create edgy, amazing looks on a shoe-string. Give me ugly items with no or little value, and I will transform them into items you'll treasure. THIS IS MY PASSION!

The photographer is Shanna Michelle and her blog is here. Both ladies have totally blown me away with the styling and the images.

Check it out:

Vintage turkey images glued to charger plates she found at a thrift store.
This light burlap tablecloth has totally inspired me. This would be a great every day solution for my dark wood table. As Ashley was sewing the pieces together for her holiday tablecloth she realized that the underside was a bit more fun than the finished edges. Fray the underside edges a bit and wow~ a totally unexpected and chic solution. If you go to Ashley's blog {here} you can watch her tutorial on making many of these things for her holiday table. The acorn centerpiece was a 2x4 piece of scrap wood which she glued paper to the outside of(weathered paint background), adding the moss and acorns to the top.

She also shows how she made this lamp shade cover out of burlap scraps.
Cute vintage Thanksgiving postcards and paper are from the Graphics Fairy.

Well I'm off to try to replicate some of this myself.
Happy short week to everyone!

Asthetics

What is it that you find pleasing to the eye?

Balance? Emphasis?
Flow?
Focus?
Uniformity?

Tension?
Continuity?

Movement?

Depth?

Scale?

Or unity?
I'm a unity, balance, and continuity kind of girl....as if you didn't already know that.

Happy weekend friends!
