Dear Jenna:

Honest what?
10 things about me:
1. My family has always called me 'T' {short for Tricia}. For as long as I can remember, every morning when I ventured out into the kitchen to get breakfast my always chipper dad would say "Morning T" {hence the blog name}. Most mornings I was tired and grumpy and just grumbled a response back to him. I lost my dad this past December and am continually seeing his early bird ways and need for artistic and creative expression in myself.
2. I am a very shy person and dread most large functions. I shrink in large crowds.
3. I loathe exercise but force myself to go running early every morning before the family awakens.
4. I am extremely uncoordinated and don't have an athletic bone in my body. I grew up snow skiing so that it is the only athletic thing I can do.
5. Music is my outlet. In addition to my support system {incredible sisters, family, and close friends}, music has gotten me through most of the hard times I've encountered in my life. I constantly change the words to songs to fit in my dog or daughter's names and I sing around the house all the time.
6. I grew up right outside of Boulder, Colorado so I consider myself somewhat of a closet granola. I love patchouli oil, incense, yoga, meditation, new age music, holistic medicine, hemp products, all natural skin care products, flax, and of course....granola. :-)
7. Blogging has made me a more open and friendly person. Leaving comments on all of your fabulous blogs has helped me make small talk with strangers. I find myself smiling at strangers much more frequently now.
8. I am extremely claustrophobic.
9. I have a seriously dangerous fetish with luxury handbags. Not bags with big logos, but bags made by hand in Paris using top quality leather {Hermes anyone?}. I know, this doesn't quite fit into the characteristics of #6, but I'm quirky like that.
10. When I was a little girl I hand made paper flower bouquets, bedspreads, curtains, rugs, etc, for my doll house. I still have these things and recently showed them to my daughter. I shared a room with my little sister growing up and in each room I made a little private vanity area for myself in our closet, complete with a tiny skirted table {or box}. I guess my interest in houses and interior design began way back then.
OK, now for the part where I pass this award on to 7 blogs that I find brilliant. These are my daily 'go to' blogs {not listed in any order}, without which I would lack inspiration entirely.
2. Bienvenue
Happy Friday everyone! I'm off to the land of Mickey and Minnie and all things happy tomorrow for a much needed break from work and a breather with the family. I'll have my laptop and camera in tow and hope to post some fun pics from down there.

Reading and dreaming

If I was a hutch, I would have this white paint covering me with a little love showing through. I would have these jadeite and ironstone dishes inside with this perfect 'A' tassel hanging from my handle.
If I was a bedroom I would be washed in bright white natural light. I would have soft and airy fabrics around me and an abundant supply of large vintage laundry baskets hidden away. I would have the most charming and unique light fixture hanging right in my center.
If I was a living room I would have exposed wood plank walls and ceilings, all painted in the perfect shade of white. I would have french doors at my entrance and large plank rustic wood floors. The furniture would be well loved and well worn, welcoming visitors to spend hours in my space. I would be surrounded by perfectly arranged yet casual vignettes on tables and mantels.
If I was a white vintage tea cup I would be filled with lovely, sparkly jewels and I would be protected by the palest pink peony in a clear glass vase.
If I was a garden party I would order up the brightest rays of sun with a hint of a breeze. My large white table would be complete with vintage linens, place cards, and plenty of wine for all of my guests.
If I was an entryway table I would be rustic, with a large, white antique mirror on my top to reflect the smiling faces as my visitors arrive. I would always have white hydrangeas front and center in a galvanized bucket. Vintage wicker totes would rest nearby filled with magazines and materials for my guests to peruse.
If I was a dining area I would have an oval table so that my guests could visit easily. The table would be covered in white linen with a simple arrangement of candles in the center to provide soft lighting while my guests visit {and to give my crystal chandelier a vacation}. My chairs would be worn and loved and oh the stories they could tell about the many conversations that have taken place in this room over the years.
If I was in my favorite city in the world today, in my favorite department store, I would visit with one of my favorite designers.
But I'm not.
So I'll settle with laying in my comfy white bed, just in front of my pretty white shutters, and studying page after page of 'At Home with White', while sipping on white wine.

Pack it or stack it
Town and Country Travel.... I plan on stacking it when I return.

These undoubtedly have weathered countless miles and hold more history than they ever did items:
Hudson Goods

Pottery Barn has this Expedition Trunk side cube:
Pottery Barn
If you're like most of us and don't 'just so happen' to have a few vintage pieces hiding out in your garage or attic, you can still get the look for less try stacking some baskets:
Pottery Barn
Or simply place one interesting piece under a bench like this:
Pottery Barn
I spy this trend in the Nester's freshly organized home office:
Nesting Place
Sarah from A Beach Cottage gave these bags her special {white love} treatment and stores them on an armoire in her bedroom:
A Beach Cottage
And here she stores a large trunk underneath her family room coffee table:

So what's your take on stacking it, do you have this cool look going on in your home?Tuesday, September 22, 2009

Just send in a pic with your order form and get your custom made fur friend delivered to your doorstep.

Want to create an alternate reality inside your world using lighting? If so then Melissa has you covered again with these shadow lamps using hand etched bulbs:

These hand etched bulbs would be so fun in the corner of a living room or a bedroom.
